Summary/Abstract: The probationary period is the subject of this article. It is an important element of the conditional release, it is a continuation of resocialization impact to the convicted person in controlled liberty. This period verifies the completion of aims of the executed imprisonment penalty. The article analyses the probationary period in criminal legislation, legal nature of the probationary period, limits of the probationary period, course of the probationary period and its modification.
