The dispute about the legal nature of the university

Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the issues related to the legal status of higher education institutions. The author tries to answer the question whether universities, which are a special type of higher schools, can be included in the category of public-law establishments or corporations under public law. The paper was divided into four parts. The first part contains general comments and introduces the reader to the issues discussed. Then, arguments were presented that are in favor of considering universities to be administrative institutions.
