THE METHOD AND CONTENT ANALYSIS OF EMPIRICAL STUDIES ON YOUTH, RELIGION AND VALUES IN TURKEY

Summary/Abstract: The modernization process that going on circa two centuries influences to social life deeply. In this process traditional institutions and values are losing their importance. The high-speed changes that emergence into social life affect the peoples’ viewpoint of life and value judgments. One of the most influenced parts of society from these high-speed changes is youth. As it’s known the youthfulness is the tempestuous period which the personality take shape. The breakings lived into social life chiefly affect the young people and this situation indirectly interests the future of society. In this sense the problems of young people in over against the changing social values and the attitudes they developed are important issues that should be studied on. Especially the researches on the field of religion and values show that the religion and traditional values have important attribution to the young people to solve their problems they met. In this article we tried to examine the methods and contents of empirical studies on youth, religion and values in Turkey.
