Summary/Abstract: “Prostitution” is not a new phenomenon, but for many years it has been viewed by criminal justice professionals, sociologists, lawyers, social workers, and general public to be a serious social problem. „Prostitution” is an elastic concept. It means different things, at different times and in different places. Child prostitution is prostitution involving a child, and it is a form of commercial sexual exploitation of children. The term normally refers to prostitution of a minor, or person under the legal age of consent. In most jurisdictions, child prostitution is illegal as part of a general prohibition on prostitution.
