Summary/Abstract: The new Slovene and Yugoslav guidelines for Slovene educational policy in the years 1918—1925, the extension of the school network and the establishment of a Slovene university have essentially contributed to 'an enhancement of national consciousness. The hew generations who grew up under the educational conditions of this period have become the basis for the further development of the Slovenes in cultural, economic and political fields.
