Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to explain the course of Turkish-American relations, which started in 1917 and started to be transformed into a strategic partnership as of 1946, and the factors affecting the political and economic developments, problems and strategic partnerships in this period. In the first part of the study, Turkish-American relations in the Ottoman Empire period were briefly mentioned and information was given about cutting of diplomatic relations. In the second chapter, the Turkish-American relations in the period of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, in which the formal relations were resumed and developed, were examined. In the last chapter, the two countries act according to their national interests and the relations begin to gain a new dimension. Turkish-American relations during World War II. The sources of the study consist of archival documents, books, articles, press and parliamentary minutes.
