Summary/Abstract: The food industry, which played an active role in the 20th century, resorted to various industrial processes in order to increase the durability and productivity of foods. In this period, increase in various diseases and the denaturation of growing food products have reduced the level of confidence in food industry and caused fear and anxiety within society. The aim of this study is to reveal the extent of the anxiety and fears stemming from the health risks within society and also examine whether people are conscious about food consumption. The study was carried out through using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The questionnaire was applied to the sample of 400 people and also in-depth interviews with 12 participants were conducted. According to the research findings, risk awareness, anxiety and fear are high in the sample.
