Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with mental aspects of discourse. Their understanding depends on the interpretation of the term discourse. In investigating mental aspects of discourse, we may employ the cognitive and text-centred models of discourse. It should be noted that the concept of consciousness in crucial in this discussion.
