Summary/Abstract: Product quality is a complex and dynamic attribute because it is deeply linked with the customer's diversified requirements. The quality attributes of a product are defined during the manufacturing process, but their effects are felt during the usage of the product. In order to ensure the quality of a product, one has to pay close attention to many details, starting with the design stage. This involves a careful and in-depth analysis of the details of the model, which are recorded in a sketch (freestyle or technical), photo or in a video file. Through this analysis, the designer establishes the overall dimensions of the model (lengths and widths), volumes, the number, shape and volume of its parts, the type of materials from which the garment must be made and plans its manufacturing process sequences. In general, the design process of any consumer goods begins by drawing a detailed and complex 2D sketch. This latter is known as a technical drawing, and it is an essential element of the garment worksheet because it contains data describing all the details of the model: the shape of its pieces, colours or motifs, the type and position of different accessories, etc. Kaledo is a Lectra program, which offers proper tools for drawing such sketches and allows the user to create innovative fabric designs and styles in a short time. In this paper, the authors present a tutorial about how to select and use Kaledo functions for creating sketches, with suggestions for different combinations of colours or motifs. This tutorial is suitable for any person working in the field of clothing design who has permission to use this program.
