ON STUDY OF MANUSCRIPT TRADITION “WORD ABOUT OBSCENE LANGUAGE”

Summary/Abstract: The “Word about obscene language” presumably appeared at the turn of the XVI‒XVII centuries. The earliest reference to the work dates back to the XVII century. The article provides an overview of the written monument, considers its origin, analyzes some of the wordings and text options, restores some plots and parallels (with apocryphal “Conversation of the Three Hierarchs”; religious poems etc.). More than 70 hand-written works of the XVII‒XX centuries monuments served as a study material.
