Summary/Abstract: At this time in the Slovenian agriculture, smaller farms prevailed which were unable to meet the demands of the market economy. As a consequence, the conviction had developed among Slovenes that only co-operative farming would ensure the survival of and enterprise initiative for smaller farmers. However, these hopes failed because the produce based co-operative farming could not match the results of the credit based co-operative farming.
