Summary/Abstract: In this paper we aim to answer the question in what way Milan Kašanin enriched our knowledge of the Serbian medieval culture. By reviewing Kašanin’s professional activities on the preservation of the church and civil monumental heritage,from the moment he returned from his studies in France in 1923 and 1924, until his death, we seek to present his methodology, as well as his tireless enlightenment action, work and care for the cultural needs of the inhabitants of Serbia. In addition,Kašanin’s manuscript legacy shows the extent to which his approach to history was serious and fundamental.
