Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the self-handicapping levels of active football referees in Corum. It was also aimed to examine the participants' self-handicapping levels by age, gender, year of profession, education level and income level. The subjects were the active football referees (N = 49) in Corum. The data were collected by using the 25-question "Self-Handicapping Scale", which was developed by Jones and Rhodewalt and adapted to Turkish by Akın. The data were analysed by using the percentage and frequency tables and the differences between the variables were examined by using ANOVA. Results: Significance level was determined as p<0.05. As a result, there was no significant differences (p>0.05) between self-handicapping scores according to participants' demographic data.
