Remuneration of Nurses in the Slovak Republic - the Unsolved Problem

Summary/Abstract: In the Slovak Republic, the remuneration of nurses regulated two acts. The remuneration of nurses of non-state providers of health care is regulated by Labour Code (Act no. 311/2001 Coll.). On the other side, the remuneration of nurses of state providers of health care is regulated by Act no. 553/2003 Coll. of the work in the public interests. The unification of remuneration of nurses in public and private sector was realized by Act no. 62/2012 Coll. of minimum wage claims of nurses for a short time period only. Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic decided to incompatible. Act no. 62/2012 Coll. with art. 20. 1 in conjunction with art. 1.1 of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic. From promulgation of the decision of the Constitutional Court, the Slovak legislator has six months to compliance the Constitution. In contribution we deal with starting point of new regulation of remuneration of nurses that is compliance with the Constitution of the Slovak Republic.
