Summary/Abstract: In the context of this research, the interaction of sustainability-related decision making, communication and education factors with the structural and managerial attributes of the entreprise they are working for at present were evaluated by hotel managers and the dynamics having an implication on (influencing) the sustainability practices are attempted to be discovered. The aim of the research is to enhance the awareness of the hotel managers and employees on sustainability matters and to contribute to the related literature. For this purpose, a five-point Likert scale survey which was composed of 29 questions and the response rate of which was 34%, was sent to 800 middle and top managers working for four and five starred hotels in Turkey. As a result of 21 comparisons made by using independent groups t-test and one-way ANOVA analysis to determine the relationship between the structural and managerial attributes of the hotel and the three dimensions obtained from a factor analysis which are determined as communication, training and decision making in sustainability related issues, there happens to be a weak finding that as the hotel managers are more highly ranked, they tend to evaluate sustainability communications more negatively and suspiciously.
