THE EVALUATION OF THE SYSTEM AND TECHNOLOGY SKILLS OF GRADUATES OF VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION FACULTIES IN THE LIGHT OF MANAGERS' OPINIONS (AN CASE FROM THE CORUM ORGANIZED INDUSTRIAL CENTER)

Summary/Abstract: The goal of the Vocational and Technical Education Faculties at the founding was to supply industry with the labour power it requires. However, graduates of vocational and technical education faculties, who were not able to find a position in the recent teaching staff central appointments, were pushed to industry. It has been necessary to determine, according to employer opinions, to what extend these graduates possess the necessary level of system and technology skills, which are important in terms of employability. This research evaluates the system and technology skills level of vocational and technical education faculty graduates in accordance with employer opinions. Questionnaires were conducted with managers of 40 companies in the Çorum Organized Industrial Center. The data obtained through the research presented a normal distribution was checked with the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. The Exact and Monte Carlo methods of the chi-square analysis were used for determining the independence between qualitative variables. The P<0.05 value was considered significant.
