Summary/Abstract: In our ever increasingly fussy and hasty time, bicycle is the very embodiment of the freedom and the inner peace. Many people, depending on the environmental factors in today’s society, are able to avail themselves of bicycle memory from their childhood that almost every child can have, even if this bicycle does not give people the freedom and inner peace. At this point, when looking at the arguments that the painters use to come inner peace who constitute the community’s visual memory, it is seen that one of the most important one is bicycle. For this reason, researching the bicycle subject, which has never been researched before, and examining the examples in the Contemporary Turkish Painting have been considered important in terms of contribution to the related literature and in this context, taking into account subject limitations, the study examples of painters; Turan Erol, Hilmi Özbay, Alp Bartu, Söbütay Özer, Akdoğan Topaçlıoğlu, Efkan Beyaz, Orhan Umut and Mehmet Yılmaz who worked steadily in their paintings of bicycles, have been examined. As a result of the research, it was seen that some painters used bicycle as a sense of longing from their childhood, some of them used as an aesthetic object to reflect their works. Qualitative research methods and techniques were used in the research which is based on general screening model.
