Summary/Abstract: The questions of taboo and linked with it tabooistic namings has not been object of independent research for the southwestern bulgarian dialects. That is why the aim of this research is to investigate in ethnolinguistic plan some names of people and animals in these dialects. The bulgarian and Slavonic, as well as to high extent, the german ethnolinguistic tradition is followed, in the understanding of the connection between language and people and the language as ethnological code.
