Summary/Abstract: In the paper the author deals with the changing in the ownership structure of the Slovene banks before the Second World War. As its main characteristics the following facts are exposed: a strong share of credit cooperatives and saving banks among the owners, a strong presence of foreign capital in the banks and the prevalence of the institutionalised investors in the bank management at the expense of small investors, except in cases when the latter founded special companies to represent their interests.
