Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to present the emerging trends in the development of social needs and the policies developed at national level to meet these needs. The paper examines the types of social needs. An analysis of the dynamics of social protection revenues and expenditures has been made and key trends in social protection policies are highlighted.
