Summary/Abstract: This paper we study the changes in additional value of the banking business while we mainly focus on those after the world financial crisis and the implementation of the Basel III regulations. The method of analysis is of the effect of the fundamental changes and the changes in the value of the bank capital is based on franchise value approach. The sample is composed of international banks (with systemic importance) witch are additionally regulated through the macroprudential part of the BIS regulation. We found a significant reduction in both franchise and tangible value with a significant increase of the book value. Such changes suggest that banks are affected by increasing risk absence.
