Summary/Abstract: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental organization, which was founded in 2001 by leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. SCO concentrates mainly on the cooperation in the field of security in the region of Central Asia which is very important in terms of geopolitics because of its huge mineral resources. Central Asia is the geopolitical space which could be crucial for the U.S strategy in the 21st century as the Washington wants to diversify its import of oil, gas and other resources. That is one of the reasons why there could arise conflict between the West and SCO. I would like to analyse more of details in this article.
