Summary/Abstract: Piri Reis has great achievements as an admiral for the world’s maritime history. Although the date of birth is unknown, it is estimated that he was born in the last quarter of the 15th century. Piri Reis won many victories as admiral in the navy of the Ottoman Empire until the middle of the 16th century. In addition to the two world maps known today, his book called “Kitab-ı Bahriye”, which contains information and experiences about maritime, contains important maps about maritime. The subject of this article is about the ornament of Piri Reis map, which is a part of the second world map has reached today. Piri Reis’s signature is on this piece, while the ornaments around him represent the stylistic features of the period in which it was written. The pattern analysis of the ornament which is has been carried out and it is aimed to be a light for the next researches.
