Summary/Abstract: In this study, two children with mild mental deficiency were examined for the effectiveness of the concept map technique presented by the direct teaching method in terms of the benefits of the animals, their eating habits and their shelter. One of the single subject research designs, a multiple probe design across skills was used in this study. The dependent variable of the study is the level of learning of the target students about the benefits of animals, eating patterns and shelters. The independent variable is the concept map technique presented by direct teaching method. In addition, the concept map presented by the direct teaching method and the effect of retention after one week, two weeks and four weeks after the end of teaching were investigated for the effect of generalizing different person (own teacher). Social validity data were obtained by taking the opinions of the students about the practice from the teachers in the study.
