Summary/Abstract: In the present article the author analysis the instability of Romanian governments after the breakdown of communism regime. He uses several vaiables, such as the configuration of Romanian party system, the number of relevant actors of political coalitions and the conflicts within the formal political coalitions, in order to explain why this form of political instability has been much present in Romanian polity after 1996. The article also contains an extended list of political conflicts that have appeared within political coalitions between 1990 and 2000.
