Summary/Abstract: Mainstreaming in Europe and the world is becoming increasingly more frequent, resulting in the development of different approaches to the challenges of educating students with special educational needs. The research presented in this article focused on a comparative analysis of the presented results of the quality of life of students with autism spectrum disorder attending two types of schools, i.e. an “integrated” school and a special school (with separate classes only for students with this disorder). The obtained results allow for a broader and deeper reflection on the indications regarding support for the development of students with autism, as well as an indication of a personalistic research attitude – listening to those most impacted, which here are the students with autism spectrum disorder.
