Summary/Abstract: The article examines the research in the Epohi journal, devoted to Byzanthology. It is not an easy taskas the question what is Byzantium and when it begins and ends is disputed. Another problem is that there are no clear boundaries between Byzanthology proper and Medieval Bulgarian history and Medieval Balkan history. Various aspects of Byzantine history – political history, ideology, diplomacy, numismatics, historical sources, subjects that are on the borderline with classical philology have been examined by many authors not only from Bulgaria but also from abroad. Among the most famous authors that have published their articles in Epohi we can mention Vasil Gyuzelev, Vasilka Tapkova-Zaimova, Plamen Pavlov, Kazimir Popkonstantinov and many others.
