Summary/Abstract: In the following discussion, the author analyses the issue of wages of Members of Parliament during the first Yugoslav state, taking into account the income of the National Assembly and Senate members as well as the fees of Ban's Council and Administrative Unit Assemblies members. In the first part, the author focuses on the system of wages for Assembly Members and their development from the second half of the 19th century, while in the second part he analyses the nature and the actual role of Assembly Members' wages or daily allowances. He finds that the arrangement in regard to the wages of Members of Parliament was well organised in the systematic sense. The amount received by Assembly Members was not negligible, but regardless of that the recipients frequently thought otherwise and attempted to earn more in various questionable ways.
