Summary/Abstract: In this paper, it is aimed to explain the concept of “Metacognition” which has recently been the subject of some debates and has some meanings such as ‘thinking on thinking ’ and ‘cognition about cognition ’. It is also aimed to posit the components of this concept and to discuss the different views on the ways of teaching Metacognition. Furthermore, it is tried to be explained how the Metacognition affects the self-monitoring and self-evaluation of students.
