Summary/Abstract: The difference between icon and image is obvious and fundamental; while the icon intercedes and raises us to the spirituality, the image claims self-sufficiency. Actually, the true possibility of saving the image is in the icon, in its humility. The icon is not a good in itself, but its truth lies in its link with its prototype, while the image lacks content.
