Summary/Abstract: The terminology opposition Turkish – Turkic has a specific history on the way to its establishment as a conventional dichotomy in modern linguistics. Its origin is related to the process of forming of the new Turkish language as an independent language system and defining as an official national language of Turkey after the start of a republican form of government.
