Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the developments of Common Slavic *tj/ktj and *dj/gdj in four villages that belong to the southwestern part of the geographic area of Macedonia, now in the territory of present-day Greece. The archaic dialects in these villages, evolving in a relatively small but isolated area, demonstrate certain specifics that distinguish them from other southwestern Bulgarian (Macedonian) dialects and from each other.
