RESEARCHING OF WATER ELEMENT IN TERMS OF DIFFERENT INTENDED USES IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN: EXAMPLE OF ANATOLIA

Summary/Abstract: Water is among the main sources of life since it is a physiological essential requirement for all living creatures. In addition to this primary function, it is used in different functions in many different areas of life such as cleaning, transportation, energy production and sports. One of these different areas where water is used is the architecture. From the historical process to today, it is observed that water feature is used as a design tool in many types of buildings. The purpose of this study is researching of different intended uses of water element in architectural design. In this context, six different samples were selected from Anatolia where the water feature used as the design element, and the functions and purposes of water on these samples were examined.
