Summary/Abstract: Introduction: The issues of migration and interethnic coexistence currently lie with current political, social and health issues. Study in the field of social work is to prepare students to meet other cultures, to understand the diversity and to form positive attitudes towards people from other cultural environments. The aim of the research was to analyze attitudes of students of social work to migrants and refugees coming to Slovakia. Methods and Material: Research has a quantitative strategy, a methodological tool was a questionnaire. Student attitudes were investigated using the Likert scale and semantic differential method of Ch. E. Osgooda. A survey of 101 respondents was drawn up by deliberate selection. It was made by students of VŠSASP sv. Elizabeth in Bratislava in social work and detached workplaces bl. Sára Salkaházi in Rožňava, bl. Methoda D. Trčku in Michalovce. Results and Discussion: Synthesis of the results found that 40.6% of students describe their attitudes towards immigrants as neutral. The incoming migrants, the behavior of our society towards them and the impact of immigration on Slovakia (according to the average value of 3.33 to 3.70 of the semantic differential) are perceived neutral and adjectives tend to be rather negative. The neutral view of satisfaction with the components of education about the issue of immigrants is represented by 32% of the students and 71.3% of the respondents point to the need for their improvement.
