Summary/Abstract: One of the fastest changing concepts of recent years is to work together. Today, space typologies, where people from different backgrounds are working in the same environment as integrated and where there exists an intense information exchange, are designed. As an alternative to traditional closed-plan offices, the transition to open-plan offices has been actualized with the quick expansion of collaborative work and the addition of technology to the spaces. The way in which the design will be shaped in the future processes is also about how the technology will develop. The creation of the work ecosystem is becoming more flexible with these variables. Innovative firms adopt the idea that open office designs offer a more flexible working environment and reduce costs. However, the offices designed like that have many disadvantages in terms of employees. Open offices, especially those that have problems such as noise, lack of privacy, lack of concentration, constitute 70% of the office designs of developed countries like the United States of America today. Most workplaces in Turkey have closed office workspaces. Although there are significant differences between domestic and international companies, 41 % of office layouts are closed offices. With international companies setting offices in Turkey, this percent is foreseen to be increased on behalf of open offices. In this study, understanding of the new office of companies, how new spaces are perceived by the employees and how to organize the functional spaces in order to augment the performance in open offices will be analysed in line with globalization.
