The Sanctions Committee against DPRK established by UN Security Council Resolution 1718 (2006) of 14 October 2006

Summary/Abstract: At the beginning of the report an analysis was made of the constitution of the UN Security Council and its powers under the provisions of Chapters VI and VII of the UN Charter.The establishment of the Sanctions Committee against the DPRK in the light of Resolution 1718 (2006) was considered. Attention is drawn to the Committee's powers, the decision-making process and the powers of the group of experts who support the work of the Committee.
