Summary/Abstract: The article considers gender differences in the formation and development of ideas about territorial development. Both men and women consider socio-economic and infrastructural development, as well as development of tourism priorities for the region. In other spheres views of men and women differ. In the perception of the development of the territory, men and women are in agreement that it is promising, rich, cold, clean, “own” territory. In other criteria and forms, the views of men and women diverge. Nature, cultural and religious traditions and mythology unite inhabitants of Irkutsk. This is the key idea of the territorial brand formation of Irkutsk region.
