OVERVIEW ON THE VERBAL SYSTEM OF GJAKOVA VERNACULAR

Summary/Abstract: When discussing the differences between dialects or between the vernacular speeches, they mostly look to the verbal system, but emphasizing that these differences are not of a profound structural nature. In this paper, the verbal system of the Gjakova vernacular is treated within dialectological aspect. Despite the differences and peculiarities, this vernacular does not leave much of the northeastern vernacular geghe. The treatment of this issue has been made in a comparative approach to the surrounding vernaculars, but in many cases even the standard Albanian. The study of the verbal system of this vernacular in comparative slogan opens the way for more general studies of the verbal system of the Dukagjini Plains and beyond.
