Summary/Abstract: International diplomacy was not prepared to respond with appropriate attitudes and decisions to the conflict in the area of the former Yugoslavia after the 1990s. Initial attitudes to maintain the Yugoslav federation from diplomacy which were internationally influential, including the United States, it only escalated the bloody conflict. In stopping the bloody conflict in the areas of the former Yugoslavia, the crucial role was also the joint efforts of the international diplomacy represented by the Contact Group. The decision of international diplomacy, so that the Albanians are not party at the Dayton Conference, strengthened the feeling and projects of Serbian nationalism on one hand, and discouraged Kosovo Albanians on the other hand. In such circumstances, the support of armed KLA activities began in Kosovo, which expanded the bloody conflict throughout the entire territory of Kosovo. The diplomacy of several Western and US countries was determined to support the voting of the Security Council Resolutions for condemning the violence that was conducted in Kosovo during the summer of 1998. Resolutions for Kosovo were crucial to legitimize international engagement in the solving of the conflict in Kosovo and the establishment of peace in the Balkans. Establishing peace in Kosovo was made possible only when the combination of diplomacy and military forces was made in order to convince S. Milosevic's regime to withdraw from Kosovo.
