Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the prehistory of the biblical text of 2 Ki. 21:1-18 which describes King Manasseh’s life and appraises him. The article consists of two parts: an analysis that identifies the scope of the editors’ interference in the biblical texts and a synthesis which tries to reconstruct the editorial process. The second part of the investigation is based on the results of the previous part. (transl. Olha Zatwardnicka)
