Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author presents the historical background of the work on computer concordances produced in the Institute of Linguistics, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb, and the advantages of their application for the exact analysis of literary texts: ranging from proving the authorship of a certain work to detecting subtle stylistic variations.
