Summary/Abstract: This article presents and comments on the meaning and practical application of a number of basic psychoacoustic principles, both in the process of music creation (composition, arrangement, performance) and in the professional audio production. To fulfill these requirements, the audio professional should be well acquainted with the patterns of sound perception and ready to use them to achieve high quality artistic product. Applying these principles in audio production should be considered an artistic manipulation, directed to the emotional and aesthetic needs of the final user.
