Summary/Abstract: This article presents the law status of the Federal Guard (FSO) of the Russian Federation. This institution assures protection for the highest representatives of Russian Authorities and guarantees government communication and safety for official delegations from other countries staying on the territory of Russian Federation. Author describes predecessors of FSO, analyses laws regulating functioning of the Federal Guard and its competences. There is also presented the organizational structure one of that most mysterious special services in Russia. Author enables readers to do comparative analysis of the FSO, according to other countries’ security guards.
