Summary/Abstract: The article analyses several aspects related to the criminalization and investigation of offences related to participation interrorist and organizations groups at national and international level. Starting from the provisions of Article 4 of the Directive 2017/541/EU on combating terrorism and the provisions of Article 2 of the Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on the prevention of terrorism, the article analyses the provisions of Article 35 of the Law no.535/2004 on the prevention and combating of terrorism in Romania, following up whether the internal framework on offences related to terrorist groups and organizations adapted to the European and international ones. Directive 2017/541/EU and the Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on the prevention of terrorism set minimum rules on the definition of penalties related to terrorist group offences as well as measures to protect, assist and support victims of terrorism.
