Summary/Abstract: The principle of appealability in canon proceedings is realized during a dispute settlement, which along with the cognizance of the case constitutes the formal framework of a canon iudicium. The settlement of a dispute is the crucial stage of judicial proceedings to the parties, but given the fact that this settlement may not be satisfactory to both parties, there must be a principle of appealability in the system of Canon Law, as a constituent of iudicium for it is ontically linked with the internal structure of a iudicium. Nevetheless, the principle is inherent in the iudicium since its very commencement. The judge who makes a decision and performs an act during the proceedings has to be aware of the legal line of action which is subject to appeal. Therefore, the litigants and all other participants are bound by the above.
