Summary/Abstract: This article treats the question of salvation in different religions, a topic that poses the greatest challenge for the church in the 21st century. The world has become more and more transparent and the exchange of information between cultures is nowadays very intensive. Christians are obliged to respond to these phenomena. The article first examines the claim that Jesus Christ is the fullness of religion. It then analyses the concept of Jesus’ presence in other religious traditions. Its following subsections take up the documents of the Second Vatican Council and other statements of the Magisterium. The article concludes with a review of the pluralistic views of religion.
