Addenda to the peregrination of Kiss Gergely

Summary/Abstract: The time and place of Backamadarasi’s western studies has been an open question of the relevant scholarly literature for a considerably long time. His name usually appears in connection with two universities, i.e. of Basel and Bern, nevertheless, it has not yet been settled how much time he had actually spent in each of the two. From the letters addressed to József Teleki, currently published within the present article, it becomes evident that Gergely Kiss had travelled to Basel following the advice of his high-ranking correspondent, and then went to Bern. The epistles also bear witness to the fact that Kiss was studying most of the time in the Academy of Bern, whilst during the holidays he also paid scholarly visits to the one in Basel.
