Summary/Abstract: Béla Tankó was a doctor of arts, a professor of Philosophy and Paedagogy, the dean and president of the University of Debrecen. In his aesthetic oeuvre beauty is claimed to be a true and appropriate supplement of ethical and logical value. Religious value is the direct synthesis of these. Art and religion supplement each other with religion providing the noblest content of art, while art providing the most appropriate form of religion.
