Summary/Abstract: This paper aims at studying foreign influences on the Aromanian lexic, with focus on loanwords from, mostly as a result of a direct contact. The languages discussed in these terms are Greek, Turkish, Slavonic languages, Albanian, and Italian. The calcified forms, as a general term comprising phraseological expressions and proverbs, are used in concrete context only, and do not represent the subject of a semantic analysis. Yet, in an indirect way, they do represent significant phraseological wealth of the Aromanian speech and worldview. The said analysis shows that the Aromanian corpus is dominated by Greek-origin loanwords, which is consolidated by the data from The Dictionary of Aromanian Dialect by Tache Papahagi.
