Summary/Abstract: In the article, the author describes one sector of Polish emigration to Germany post 2004. The article focuses on Poles who chose the eastern, border region of Germany as a place to live. Since 2004, that is following Poland’s accession to the European Union, the number of such people has continually grown. This migration has also changed in terms of its quality. In earlier years, people engaged in simple work mainly migrated for short periods. Within the framework of newer migration, new arrivals to Germany intend to stay for extended periods of time, and these are often people from professions requiring high qualification levels (doctors, office workers, specialists).
